Douglas County Impersonating a Peace Officer Attorney

Woman Pretends to be Cop to Get Boyfriend Out of Jail
Presenting yourself as a police officer and then doing something that only a police officer can do is charged as Impersonating a Peace Officer in Castle Rock and Douglas County. I have read many stories about people pretending to be police for fun or to show off to their friends, but the woman in this story had a real purpose to her impersonation. According to the report, the woman pretended to be a deputy and forged documentation saying that she was there to transport an inmate to another facility. Turns out that inmate was her boyfriend. He was released to her custody – only to have a real deputy show up two days later to get him.  Upon investigation, it was determined that the documents were faked and that there was no deputy with the name the girlfriend provided. The man’s freedom didn’t last long, though, as both he and his girlfriend were picked up less than a month later. She was charged with multiple crimes, including Forgery, Escape, and Impersonating a Peace Officer.
